Biography

Dr. Jessica Dial is an Instructor at the Medical University of South Carolina in the College of Nursing’s MSN/DNP Program. She brings a dynamic blend of clinical expertise and academic enthusiasm to her role, with a strong focus on diabetes care, patient education, and quality improvement.

She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and practices as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Endocrinology at MUSC. Dr. Dial currently provides inpatient diabetes and hyperglycemia management for a wide variety of patients, including those with complex surgical, transplant, and burn care needs. Her leadership experience includes serving as the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Lead, where she has led initiatives to enhance clinical workflows, employee engagement and interprofessional collaboration.

 Dr. Dial earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from MUSC and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Radford University. She holds certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and has presented her scholarly work at the national level.

 Dr. Dial is passionate about working with nurse practitioner students, who she believes bring fresh perspectives and genuine passion to the profession. She strives to create a supportive, engaging learning environment that bridges academic knowledge with real-world clinical insight. Her goal is to empower students to become confident, evidence-based practitioners who are ready to lead and innovate in today’s healthcare landscape.

 Dr. Dial is honored to be part of her students’ academic journey and looks forward to learning alongside them as they shape the future of nursing.
