RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Online

Description 

The purpose of this online RN-BSN program is to prepare graduates for professional nursing roles such as care coordinators, clinical leaders, applicants for graduate study, and contributors to interprofessional health care teams. The overall goals are to educate professionals to integrate evidence-based clinical knowledge and research with effective communication and leadership skills in order to translate best clinical practice into care of individual patients, families, communities, and populations. Attention Applicants
Distance Education Information

MUSC has been approved by South Carolina to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education. Currently, MUSC accepts applications to the RN to BSN program from students who live in all states.

International Applicants

Due to the distance-education nature of this program, MUSC is unable to issue- I-20 forms to allow students to obtain F-1 student visas. Only U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and those holding other valid U.S. visas will be accepted

TOEFL Scores

The score report of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for all applicants whose native language is not English. A TOEFL score of at least 80 is required.

Requirements

  1. In addition to the online application, applicants should also submit official transcripts from each post-secondary school attended, three (3) satisfactory university reference forms, a one hundred (100) word essay and a resume by the application deadline. It is highly suggested that applicants have volunteer or work experience in a health care setting.
  2. Applicants are required to have an active RN license.
  3. It is highly suggested that applicants have volunteer or work experience in a health care setting. 
  4. Sixty (60) semester hours of course work meeting the prerequisite requirements are required for consideration.
  5. The preferred minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) should be a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Students must earn a minimum grade of "C" in prerequisite courses.
  6. Three of the four required science courses must be completed at the time of application. The required science courses are Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Microbiology, and a science elective. The remaining course work may be in progress at the time of application, but must be completed by the initial date of enrollment.
