As summer comes to an end and we look forward to fall, the MUSC Storm Eye Institute is working hard to provide safe and outstanding care while continuing our mission of innovative education and research.

All clinical sites remain open and our current policies and guidelines to mitigate risk during the pandemic remain in force. We continue to remain dedicated to providing world-class care to our patients by maintaining multiple satellites offices so that patients can receive their care closer to where they live.

In support of this concept, we are excited to announce that a new ambulatory surgical center has opened in Mount Pleasant. This new center expands our ability to provide state-of-the-art surgical procedures in multiple venues. The Chuck Dawley Ambulatory Surgical Center is located near the intersection of Coleman Road and Chuck Dawley Boulevard. It is an outstanding facility with two operating rooms to enhance productivity and efficiency. A wide range of ophthalmic procedures will be offered at the new facility, including the latest in cataract surgery, femtosecond cataract surgery, corneal and glaucoma procedures. The team assembled to run the facility is top notch and we believe that this facility will provide many advantages to our patients and our faculty.

Our current surgical facilities downtown remain open and continue to provide access to the latest technologies as well. We feel extremely fortunate that the faculty and staff of Storm Eye remain safe and healthy and are dedicated to fulfilling our mission!
