Master's Degree Programs

The College of Graduate Studies offers multiple Master's Degree programs- Master's of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Master's of Science in Medical Sciences, Master's of Science in Clinical Research, and the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research. Each program offers a different pipeline to certain avenues in the clinical and research science world.

MS in Biomedical Sciences

An interdisciplinary program with a first-semester core curriculum and laboratory rotations to choose a research mentor that ensures the students progress through program milestones. The program takes two years to complete, and a thesis is required.

MS in Medical Sciences

A one-year pre-professional master’s program designed to prepare students for medical or dental school. Courses are taught by medical and dental school professors at the professional level. Dedicated MCAT and DAT preparation is available. In addition, students attend seminars with MUSC health care professionals, receive individualized coaching, and take part in professional development workshops.

MS in Clinical Research

Prepares current health professionals for research in clinical settings with options to be online or on-campus. Opportunities to collaborate in diverse research settings with mentored faculty and core competency courses designed for clinical and translational research.

MSCR Program Info

Cert in Clinical Research

The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research is an online, part-time program with courses completed in three consecutive semesters. The 19 credit hours are applicable toward the Master’s in Clinical Research (MSCR) degree. Core competency courses are designed for clinical and translational research.
