Greetings from the MUSC College of Graduate Studies! Fall is always such an exciting time on our campus, as we are greeted by new faces filled with excitement and optimism about the academic year ahead. Each of these students will undergo an amazing transformation during their time here, and I am honored to play a small role in that process as their dean.
As an alumnus of the college, you too can help shape the future of our students today, by making a gift to the College of Graduate Studies Annual Fund.
One of the initiatives your gift will support is the college’s annual Career Day, which provides our students with an invaluable opportunity to learn more about the career possibilities that await them after graduation.
We know that we do a terrific job providing our students with the knowledge, skills and experience they’ll need to excel in research. We put together Career Day to help them learn how and where they can put these strengths together to build a career, whether it be in a research setting or “beyond the bench” in fields such as science, law, industry, journalism or academia. It is a wonderful, much-needed professional-development complement to the instruction they receive in our classroom and labs. You will be hearing more about similar initiatives in the future.
Career Day depends heavily on support from the Annual Fund, which, of course, depends entirely on gifts from alumni like you. Won’t you please join me and your fellow classmates in making a gift to the College of Graduate Studies Annual Fund? In doing so, you can enrich their educational experiences here at the college and give new direction and purpose to their future career paths.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and consideration!
Paula Traktman, Ph.D.
