Relationship to Curriculum Design

This course supports the OT program’s mission and reflects the philosophy of the profession and nature of education in the OT program at MUSC. This course involves the integration of knowledge into a repertoire of professional behaviors and reasoning. During the Level II Fieldwork (clinical practicum) students engage in combining professional reasoning and practice to generate clinical solutions to client problems in a variety of practice environments. By “acting-as-therapists,” students become increasingly prepared to engage in critical thinking and perform the necessary skills through direct contact with diverse, individuals who may benefit from occupational therapy services. Level II Fieldwork enable students to achieve entry-level competency including the knowledge and skills to address client factors for engaged life participation.
