People actively walking together to practice healthy practices as they age.

The Center for Healthy Aging

A group of women smile together after a walk on a cold day.

The MUSC Center on Aging that has served seniors in the Lowcountry since 1987 is now The Center for Healthy Aging! The Center for Healthy Aging will build on partnerships, education, and outreach previously cultivated through the Center on Aging. The Center for Healthy Aging will drive discovery in all aspects of healthy aging.

In alignment with the United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing, the MUSC Center for Healthy Aging embraces all aspects of healthy aging with an understanding that aging begins at birth, and healthy aging strategies must reach across the entire lifespan.

Our 4 Pillars

The Center for Healthy Aging is comprised of four pillars:

  1. Education and Outreach
  2. Fundamental and Discovery Research
  3. Clinical Care and Research
  4. Population Health and Data Science
