BMTRY 785 Probability & Statistical Inference

Description

This one-semester course is intended for Epidemiology PhD and Biostatistics MPH students. The course provides an introduction to fundamental principles of probability and inference including: laws of probability, discrete and continuous random variables and their probability distributions, select multivariate probability distributions, sampling distributions and the central limit theorem, point and interval estimation including maximum likelihood, an overview of the hypothesis testing framework, and common hypothesis tests including the likelihood ratio, Wald, and score tests.
