About The Director

A. Lee Lewis, M.D.A. Lee Lewis, M.D. is the current Training Director for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Medical University of SC (MUSC). He holds the rank of Associate Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences where he completed both his General Psychiatry residency and C&A fellowship (serving as chief during the 2010-2011 academic year). He is a graduate of Wofford College with a BS in Psychology and an emphasis in pre-medical studies and Theatre. Dr. Lewis is actively involved in psychiatric education, serving as the Psychiatry Clerkship Director, teaching didactics in the pre-clinical years, serving as a preceptor for the Fundamental of Patient Care curriculum, and as an MS4 career mentor. Dr. Lewis has won the Department’s “Golden Apple” Award for didactic teaching eight times and was chosen by the College of Medicine as its “Clinical Years” teacher of the year for the 2013-2014 academic year. Dr. Lewis is also the Director of Child and Adolescent outpatient services where he works diligently to create a therapeutic and educational environment for all the patients and trainees that pass through the door.
