Our Team

Our clinic is staffed by a full time reproductive psychiatry fellow and psychiatry residents. Patients are evaluated and treated by a psychiatry resident or fellow and supervising attendings Drs. Constance Guille, Lisa Boyars, or Rubin Aujla.

Constance Guille

Constance Guille, M.D., MSCR

Constance Guille is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at MUSC. Dr. Guille completed her psychiatry residency training and subspecialty training in perinatal psychiatry at Yale University. She established and is currently the Director of the Women’s Reproductive Behavioral Health Program at MUSC. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Lisa Boyars

Lisa Boyars, M.D.

Lisa Boyars is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at MUSC. Dr. Boyars completed her psychiatry residency training and fellowship in perinatal and reproductive health at the Medical University of South Carolina. She currently works at the Women’s Reproductive Behavioral Health Program at MUSC. She grew up in Galveston Texas and cheers for her alma mater, the Texas Longhorns. Outside of work, she keeps busy with soccer and her faithful canine companion, Monty.

Rubin Aujla

Rubin Aujla, M.D., MPH

Rubin Aujla is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at MUSC. Dr. Aujla attended the University of South Carolina for medical school, and completed her MPH and psychiatry residency training at Tulane University in New Orleans. She returned  home to Charleston and completed a fellowship in perinatal and reproductive health at MUSC. Dr. Aujla currently works at the Women’s Reproductive Behavioral Health Program at MUSC. When not at work she can be found volunteering at a local horse rescue and baking for friends.

Clare Smith

Claire Smith, M.D.

Dr. Claire Smith is an  Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at MUSC. She received her medical degree from ETSU Quillen College of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is currently completing a  fellowship in perinatal and reproductive psychiatry at MUSC. Her professional interests include treating pregnant and postpartum women who are struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, substance use, or life stress.

Edie Douglas

Edie Douglas, MPH

Edie Douglas is a Program Manager at MUSC and works with the Women’s Reproductive Behavioral Health Program in clinical research. Edie completed her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at Furman University and a Master of Public Health at the University of Alabama Birmingham. In her spare time she enjoys running, hiking and traveling. 

Residents

Psychiatry residents at the Medical University of South Carolina can elect to spend their postgraduate year (PGY) 3 or 4 working within the Women’s Reproductive Behavioral Health Program and gain experience and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of peripartum mental health problems.
