Thank you for your interest in the Online Accelerated PhD in Nursing Science program at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing. The mission of the PhD in Nursing Science program is to educate the highest level of scientists and scholars to generate new, and advance existing, nursing knowledge through research. In accordance with this mission, we are proud to offer students the opportunity to study with highly qualified faculty who not only teach, but also conduct research and serve as role models as professional researchers and scholars in nursing science. Our faculty has carefully crafted a robust accelerated program that is designed to prepare you for a successful career as a researcher and scholar in nursing science. Please take time to review the Program Overview webpage for more details.

For our PhD program, we seek students with a demonstrated capacity for academic excellence and the ability to ask innovative and important questions that will advance the science and scholarship of nursing. Completed applications are due by February 10th for the next fall semester start date. New students only begin once a year in the fall semester. An on-campus orientation learning intensive is held in July for all incoming students. Students are required to attend three additional on-campus learning intensives over the course of the program.

I would be delighted to discuss the PhD program with you as well as your future professional goals.  As you consider this important educational and career decision, please do not hesitate to contact me for further information.
