Anthony Coleman, DHA, ’06 and ’18, has a new role at Dignity Health California and Common Spirit Health as the hospital president for Bernadine Medical Center and Community Hospital of San Bernardino.
Jay Crawford, DHA, ’04 and ’17, received the 2026 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine Educator Award. It’s given annually in recognition of outstanding contributions to imaging informatics education by a SIIM instructor or educator in the field.
Jason Howe, DHA, ’15, accepted a role at Incyte as head of digital platforms supporting clinical development and medical affairs.
Andrew Wade, DHA, ’26, has accepted a position as CEO at Princeton Orthopaedic Associates in Princeton, New Jersey.
Jonathan Young, DHA, ’24, accepted the role of practice manager at Roper Physicians OB/GYN.

Robert Budman, M.D., ’86, has been a chief medical information officer at Microsoft for eight years as a clinical technology leader focused on advancing AI in U.S. healthcare. Over the past year, he supported major Dragon Copilot customer engagements with systems across the U.S., including MUSC. He recently took top honors as a winner of the Worldwide Sales and Solution Award for Microsoft.
Lyn Hammond, M.D., ’74, has died. He devoted his professional life to practicing family medicine in Greenville at Pelham Family Practice, which he founded in 1977.
William O'Quinn, M.D., ’74, of Branchville, South Carolina was named the Family Physician of the Year by the South Carolina Academy of Family Physicians.
Neal Powell Jr., M.D., ’82, has been in private practice in orthopaedic surgery in Rock Hill, South Carolina since 1987. Currently, he serves on the MUSC College of Medicine Alumni Board.
Ben Treen, M.D., ’82, accepted a position as mohs surgeon in Hickory, North Carolina with Hickory Dermatology. He enjoys building custom acoustic and electric guitars, playing the banjo, and riding a 2016 Honda GoldWing and recumbent bicycles.
Meghan (Maggie) Thomas, M.D., ’22, has been named interim associate dean for clinical education. Thomas is an associate professor of medicine in hospital medicine and a proud MUSC graduate, having earned her M.D. and completed her internal medicine residency and chief residency at MUSC.

Michael A. Crouch, Pharm.D., ’95, was named dean of the College of Pharmacy at Mercer University.
Julia Hormann, Pharm.D., ’26, was honored with the South Carolina Pharmacy Association (SCPhA) 2026 Student Pharmacist of the Year Award.
Capt. Kimberly Langley, Pharm.D., ’09, was named Pharmacist of the Year by the Arizona Pharmacy Association (AzPA) at the AzPA Annual Convention, held June 5-7 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Meshell Maxam, Pharm.D., ’17, was named Pharmacist of the Year by the Atlanta Academy of Institutional Pharmacy. Currently serving as an infectious diseases clinical pharmacist at Northside Hospital, Maxam followed her Pharm.D. at MUSC with a PGY1 residency at Wake Forest Baptist Health and a PGY2 residency in infectious diseases at Grady Health System and Kaiser Permanente.
Whitney Pence, Pharm.D., ’12, a clinical pharmacist at Self Regional Healthcare’s pharmacist-run Medication Management System, was honored with the South Carolina Pharmacy Association 2026 Outgoing President Award.
