Outstanding Clinician Award

In 2000, the Outstanding Clinician Award was established to honor full-time faculty of any duration of service who have made outstanding contributions to patient care at the Medical University of South Carolina. Recipients are those that have gained recognition as dedicated, compassionate, and highly effective clinicians. Their clinical excellence and service commitment identify them as role models for residents, students, and faculty colleagues.

Eligibility Criteria

The criteria for the Outstanding Clinician Award are as follows:

  • Must be a full-time MUSC faculty member
  • Must be an active clinician committing a significant portion of their time caring for patients in an ambulatory or inpatient setting
  • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity, and devotion to patient care
  • Must collaborate in an effective interprofessional manner

Nomination Process

Nominations for this award will be accepted by faculty, staff, and students. To submit your nomination, please complete the online nomination form and provide a statement (not to exceed 1,000 words) outlining the nominee's qualifications for this award.

Nomination Portfolio

Upon nomination, nominees will be notified and asked to provide a nomination portfolio which should include the following.

  • Full curriculum vitae with an expanded description of the clinical activity section
  • Three (3) letters of support, with at least one from a peer
