The  Department of Diversity and Inclusion in partnership with the Office of Student Programs and Student Diversity will host the first ever Unsung Inclusion Hero Award Program on October 17, 2019 from 4:30pm-6:30pm in the Drug Discovery Auditorium and Lobby. This program will feature powerhouse R&B singer, songwriter and harpist Tulani! Light hours d’oeurves and refreshments will be served.

The Unsung Inclusion Hero Award recognizes those who have had a positive influence on a department, unit or organization from behind the scenes with a positive attitude and a willingness to help in whatever capacity necessary and exemplifying a commitment to diversity and inclusion.  We seek candidates who are on the frontlines of the efforts but then take a “behind the scenes” role when it is time for appreciation.

Purpose:

To acknowledge the work of and recognize those who are often overlooked but without their tremendous work and efforts so much would go undone. This award recognizes one person from each of the following categories who are in good standing and do not serve in executive leadership positions.

Categories:

  1. Students
  2. Community
  3. Post-doctoral candidates
  4. Faculty
  5. Staff
