Grades earned (letter, numerical and pass/fail), attendance, and personal and professional conduct form the basis on which students are evaluated with regard to satisfactory academic progress. Instructors grade and evaluate each student’s work using valid academic criteria that are fair and without bias in order to determine the earned grade. Specific expected levels of satisfactory performance may vary among colleges. The academic progress of each student is reviewed at the end of each term by the appropriate standards committee within each college. Exceptions to the application of these standards for students experiencing unusual, unavoidable, and compelling circumstances beyond their control may be allowable under the provisions of each college’s standards committee and the dean of the college.
