What is Financial Literacy?

Financial literacy is essential to our daily life as it prepares us with the knowledge and skills to manage money effectively. Being able to manage money provides us with financial independence to follow our dreams.

Understanding our finances is not about getting rich quick. It requires time to understand the banking system, how to establish and maintain credit, purchase a home, provide protection with insurance, and so much more. Setting goals and understanding your dreams are also key elements.

Medical University of South Carolina is dedicated to providing students with a better understanding of their finances. To achieve this goal, MUSC has created the Office of Financial Literacy. We are devoted to helping you chase your dream of becoming a healthcare leader while equipping you with the tools you need to reduce the amount of debt taken on while at the university.
