Whitney A. Smith, DNP, APRN, AGPCNP-BC, GNP, is an assistant professor in the College of Nursing at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) for the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of South Florida and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from MUSC.
Dr. Smith is nationally certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) and currently serves as the secretary for the Low Country Advanced Practice Association.
Dr. Smith has experience in geriatric medicine, primary care, women’s health, telehealth and teleprecepting. She has worked on two grants as the primary nurse practitioner providing care at a free clinic for the uninsured in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Her interests include chronic illness management, age related illnesses, and wellness promotion.
