Ronnie Chatterjee, MPH, serves as director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and assistant professor in Academic Affairs. In this role, he leads university-wide efforts in institutional effectiveness, accreditation, assessment, survey research and data analytics to support continuous quality improvement and informed decision-making across the institution. He oversees the administration and analysis of key university surveys, including employee engagement, student satisfaction and leadership evaluation initiatives, and directs MUSC's centralized assessment processes for academic programs and administrative units.
Chatterjee collaborates closely with institutional leaders to leverage evidence-based insights to improve outcomes, strengthen accountability and advance strategic priorities. He supports and coordinates MUSC's institutional effectiveness and accreditation activities, including the university's reaffirmation process with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and serves as a SACSCOC Institutional Effectiveness peer evaluator.
His teaching and professional interests include public health, health policy and advocacy, interprofessional team skills, outcomes assessment, survey methodology and organizational performance.
Prior to this role, Chatterjee held several leadership roles within the Division of Organizational Engagement and Excellence of MUSC, overseeing strategy, operations, analytics, process improvement and workforce development initiatives.
Chatterjee earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Microbiology from Clemson University and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from MUSC. He also holds Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the University of South Carolina.
