Biography

Michael Cotter, D.D.S., the director of the endodontics residency program and associate professor in the Division of Emergency Services of the Department of Biomedical & Community Health Sciences in the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He has extensive experience from private practice and academic health centers, including Montefiore Medical Center.

 

Dr. Cotter established his practice in Mount Pleasant in 2021 after founding two practices in New York. He serves as a major in the U.S. Army Reserves and is a founding member and past president of the International Academy of Endodontics (IAE). He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry, completed a general practice residency at Montefiore Medical Center, and a two-year endodontics program at NYU, where he served as chief resident.
