Biography
Cathryn Bachir, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, is an instructor in the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing. Her teaching focuses on foundations and gerontologic nursing, health assessment, pathophysiology and pharmacology, evidence-based practice, and professional nursing practice. She has contributed to undergraduate curriculum and course redesign and is committed to preparing nursing students for safe, evidence-based, and compassionate clinical practice.
Dr. Bachir’s clinical background includes experience as a family nurse practitioner providing primary and urgent care to individuals experiencing homelessness, as well as registered nursing experience in adult medical acute care and trauma nursing. Her scholarly interests include competency-based assessment, clinical judgment, simulation, and medication safety. She also contributes to the College of Nursing through committee leadership, student mentorship, and curriculum development.
