Biography
Michael Field, MD is an Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist with an interest in catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and left atrial appendage closure devices. He completed medical school at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, both in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed fellowship training in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Electrophysiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Before he joined MUSC, he was Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has written several of the national clinical practice guidelines on the management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
