Melissa Halcomb serves as Executive Director of Enrollment Management and Assistant Professor, Academic Affairs Faculty, at the Medical University of South Carolina. In these roles, she provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Offices of University Admissions, Student Financial Literacy, Student Financial Aid, the Registrar and Student Records, and Reporting and Data.
With two decades of service at MUSC, Melissa has held progressive leadership roles across enrollment management, student records, and institutional reporting. She manages complex information systems, develops policies and best practices to ensure regulatory compliance, oversees state and federal audits, and leads continuous improvement efforts to enhance student services and operational effectiveness.
Melissa serves in multiple university leadership and governance roles, including Chair of the University Council for Recruitment and Admissions (UCRA), and member of the Education Advisory Council (EAC), Student Affairs Advisory Council (SAAC), University Compliance Council (UCC), University Education Infrastructure Council (UEIC), and Web Integrity Governance Council (WIGC). She also serves as a peer evaluator with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
She is pursuing a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration and Leadership at the University of Florida and holds a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness.
