Biography
Geoffrey Jackman, M.D., M.B.A. is a physician who is board certified in both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Chemistry and History followed by a Medical Doctorate from Indiana University. He completed his residency from University of Texas Southwestern, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, followed by a fellowship from Emory University, Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He spent the next 20 years working in Pediatric Emergency Departments, first in Primary Children’s Hospital at the University of Utah, and then in Rady Children’s Hospital at the University of California San Diego. He transitioned to the Texas Children’s Hospital Pediatric Urgent Care system in Austin, Texas, during which time he completed an M.B.A. from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Through all of this, he has extensive experience working with complex medical and trauma related healthcare issues in the pediatric population. His passion for teaching has included being a Medical Director for an advanced lifesaving pediatric education program which taught nearly 1000 medical specialists (including physicians and nurses) annually, and has also provided countless student and resident teaching lectures. He has performed research which has been wide ranging in interests, but has included nationally recognized results. His move to Pediatric Urgent Care at the Medical University of South Carolina is with the continued goal to provide exceptional patient care while pursuing his other educational passions.
