Biography
Dr. Lee is Board Certified in General Adult and Forensic Psychiatry and is a Fellow in the American Psychiatric Association. She holds a position as Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and as a Forensic Psychiatrist in the Division of Community and Public Safety Psychiatry. Dr. Lee completed her Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts and has experience in Correctional Psychiatry. Prior to her current position at MUSC, she was a Forensic Psychiatrist in New York where she developed a model for improving Veteran Diversion Courts. As a Forensic psychiatrist, Dr. Lee supervises MUSC’s medication management clinics for the South Carolina Department of Corrections and has interests in competence to stand trial, criminal responsibility, malpractice, disability, sex offender and violence risk assessments. Her interest extends to understanding cultural influences on behaviors in psychiatric assessments and Forensic Psychiatry education. She serves as a committee member for the Education Committee and Correctional Psychiatry Committee within the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law organization.
