Biography
Tammy Loucks is a Professor with a primary appointment to the Academic Affairs Faculty and secondary appointment in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the Science Development Officer for the South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Institute (SCTR) with responsibilities for scientific and grant development activities and communications. She also serves as Associate Director for SCTR's workforce development program and Co-Lead for the NCI-funded South Carolina Cancer Health Disparities Research Center (SC CADRE) Research Education Core.
Prior to joining MUSC in 2018, Loucks was Assistant Professor and Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs and Academic Programs for the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University. She has more than 25 years of experience conducting clinical and translational research and administering research, training, and faculty development programs in academic health sciences centers.
Loucks earned a Master and Doctor of Public Health in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in microbiology from the Pennsylvania State University.
