Biography
Helen Dargan Martin, DHSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, ASCP, is an associate professor and program director at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she leads the development of the hybrid Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program. With more than two decades of experience in PA education and clinical practice, she has served as a founding and program director at multiple institutions, guiding programs through provisional and continuing accreditation.
Dr. Martin’s scholarship includes federal and foundation-funded grants advancing rural health, behavioral health, and telemedicine, as well as national presentations on accreditation, assessment, and clinical site development. A Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of PAs, she is deeply committed to expanding access to quality PA education and preparing the next generation of clinicians to meet the needs of diverse and underserved communities.
