Dr. Arifeen Rahman is an otolaryngologist specializing in rhinology and skull base surgery, caring for adults with conditions affecting the nose, sinuses, and skull base. She treats patients with chronic sinus infections, nasal polyps, nasal blockage, loss of smell, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, and benign and malignant tumors of the nose and sinuses. She is a Clinical Instructor pursuing advanced training in minimally invasive endoscopic surgery. Her goal is to help patients breathe easier, feel better, and improve their quality of life through compassionate, personalized care.
Dr. Rahman is completing fellowship training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University, where she also completed medical school. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology from Harvard College before attending medical school.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Rahman is an active clinical researcher whose work focuses on improving outcomes for patients with diseases of the nose and sinuses, reducing health disparities, and using storytelling and narrative medicine to improve the patient experience. Her research has been published in leading peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at national scientific meetings.
