Dr. Anita Ramsetty M.D., CCMS received training in Internal Medicine at University of Florida, subspecialty training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Stanford University Hospital and holds specialty Certification in Culinary Medicine through Tulane University. She serves is the Associate Dean for Community Engagement at MUSC, Director for student service learning in the COM, Co-Director of the CARES student-run free clinic and CMO for the Healthy Me Healthy SC rural health clinic initiative.
Dr Ramsetty has academic interests in underserved medicine, social determinants of health( particularly food insecurity) and student medical education. She is the recipient of grants from the Josiah Macy Jr Foundation, SC DHHS as well as the Duke Endowment.
As an educator Dr Ramsetty has served as an instructor in the Clinical Skills course for first year medical students since 2016 and has developed novel course materials including Food as Medicine, Caring for the Community I and II, and the longitudinal Nutrition in Underserved Care online course for all third year medical students.
Dr Ramsetty is the recipient of numerous awards including most recently the 2019 Healthcare Hero by Charleston Regional Business Journal, Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine award 2019 and the College of Medicine Excellence in Diversity Award 2022 .
