Biography

Angela Stanley, DNP, MA, APRN-BC, PHCNS-BC, NEA-BC, is an Instructor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at the College of Nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University, a Master of Arts in Health Services Management from Webster University, a Master of Science in Nursing from The Catholic University of America, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Community-Public Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Executive Advanced, Inpatient Obstetrics Nurse, and Electronic Fetal Monitoring.

During her 20-year career in the United States Navy, Dr. Stanley functioned as a Maternal-Child Clinical Nurse Specialist, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Community-Public Health Clinical Nurse Specialist in both traditional and austere environments around the world. She completed two deployments and various humanitarian assistance exercises in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Prior to retirement, she spearheaded the collaboration of doctorally-prepared nurses; an initiative to be implemented across the Navy Medicine enterprise.

She is interested in maternal-child health, female veteran care, and sexually transmitted infections.
