Biography
Timothy Tremont, D.M.D., FACD, is the head of the orthodontics section of and professor in the Division of Applied Craniofacial Sciences of the Department of Advanced Specialty Sciences in the James W. Edwards College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where he has led the orthodontics residency program since 2017.
Dr. Tremont was elected to the board of directors of the American Board of Orthodontics in May 2024 and is serving an eight-year term, culminating in a term as president in 2031-2032. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the University of Pittsburgh and his Master of Science (MS) and Certificate of Orthodontics from the University at Buffalo. Board-certified since 1989 and recertified in 2022, he has developed orthodontic devices, delivered more than 170 international presentations, and is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists (FACD).
