Biography

Dr. Bethany Wangelin is an assistant professor in the Military Sciences Division of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and is the Director of the PTSD Clinical Team at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. She received a BS in psychology at the University of North Carolina a Chapel Hill in 2004 and an MS and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Florida in 2012. She completed her clinical internship at the Charleston Consortium in 2011-2012, followed by a post-doctoral research year at the Ralph H. Johnson VA. She currently supervises clinical psychology interns on the VA PTSD Clinical Team rotation, and serves as a research preceptor. She is a co-Investigator on several DoD- and VA-funded projects examining the efficacy and mechanisms of prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD.
