Biography

Skylar Warmund, OTD, OTR/L, CSRS, is an Instructor in the Division of Occupational Therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and serves as Admissions Coordinator for the Residential OTD Program. An acute care occupational therapist and Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist, Dr. Warmund continues to practice at MUSC Hospital, with clinical interests in neurorehabilitation, stroke, and the care of medically complex patients in ICU and step-down settings.

Dr. Warmund teaches in the Musculoskeletal II-III course series and Neurorehabilitation I-III course series. Drawing upon her clinical experiences and current clinical practice, she enjoys bridging the gap between classroom learning and hands-on experiences to apply concepts into practice. She enjoys providing opportunities for students to interact with real patients through experiential learning while integrating her scholarship focus on Universal Design for Learning principles to expand accessibility and support to diverse learners. Dr. Warmund also serves as Chair of the Technology and Accessibility Special Interest Section (SIS) for the South Carolina Occupational Therapy Association.
