Biography

Graduated from Augusta College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in mathematics.  Early years were spent as a bench chemist in various research labs on the MUSC campus until returning to school to pursue her nursing degrees [BSN in 2007, MSN (pediatrics) in 2009, and her DNP in 2011 – MUSC alumni]. Since graduating with her MSN, Dr. Chike-Harris has worked in the pediatric primary care setting, initially through a local FQHC but now through the school-based telemedicine clinic (tSBHC) setting with the MUSC Center for Telehealth, which has allowed her to expand her primary care services outside the Lowcountry. Dr. Chike-Harris has taught at MUSC’s CON as an adjunct faculty since 2015 but accepted a full-time faculty position within the DNP program in 2017 while continuing her work within the tSBHCs. In addition to teaching, Dr. Chike-Harris is also responsible for the integration of telehealth education into MUSC CON’s nursing curricula and is the organizer for its annual telehealth conferences.  Clinical interests include telehealth, childhood obesity prevention, and adolescent primary care.
