Biography
Jacqueline E. Vasko, AuD, CCC-A is a clinical audiologist and cochlear implant fellow. She graduated summa cum laude from the College of Charleston, receiving bachelor’s degrees in psychology, neuroscience, and music. Dr. Vasko received her Doctorate of Audiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her clinical externship at the Medical University of South Carolina. During her academic training, Dr. Vasko published work in conjunction with the MUSC Hearing Research Program on the relationship between cognitive function and permanent hearing loss in older adults. As a cochlear implant fellow, Dr. Vasko is committed to providing patient and family centered care for cochlear implant recipients across the lifespan, including those with single-sided deafness, asymmetric, and congenital hearing loss. Her primary research interests include investigating individualized rehabilitative methods to support optimal outcomes for cochlear implant recipients and help them meet their personal communication goals.
