I am an Associate Professor, licensed clinical psychologist, and lead the PATH lab at https://www.the-path-lab.org/
My research aims to attend to underlying psychological trauma among people in recovery from substance use, especially opioid use. Doing this work involves attending to intergenerational trauma, health disparities based on several aspects of identity, and structural barriers. I am fortunate that my work, with colleagues, has been has been funded by several NIH awards. Presently, our team is testing a trauma therapy for people with opioid use disorder, PTSD, and on medications for opioid use disorder and testing a digital toolkit to screen and assess for intimate partner violence in opioid treatment programs across the state.
I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Adelphi University in New York City. I completed my clinical psychology internship and NIDA-T32 postdoctoral fellowship at MUSC. Previously, I was a faculty member at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. I am grateful to do work I love with people I like.
