Biography

M. Olivia Titus, MD is a Professor of Pediatrics and Fellowship Director for Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and will always be a true Virginian at heart. She made her way to MUSC for medical school then back after residency and fellowship at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Upon returning to MUSC for faculty, she started the fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and still leads this program. In addition, she has served as Vice Chair for all the fellowships in the Department of Pediatrics since 2012 which has been a wonderfully collaborative role serving multiple specialties and fostering nice relationships amongst all the fellowship programs. With a true passion for teaching, she worked with GME to create the Fellows as Teachers curriculum for fellows and a Certificate as Educators course which includes an educational research capstone project. She has also enjoyed her own educational research with other PEM Fellowship Directors across the country. Olivia (which she insists all call her) is married to David who practices general Emergency Medicine in Charleston and they have three lively children. Outside of work, therefore, she is a taxi-cab, soccer mom, travel volleyball mom and slime mom but makes time for lots of running and hot yoga.
