RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:
Area of Research:
My primary research area is in finding occupation-based interventions to reduce health disparities and inequities among marginalized communities. My passion is to facilitate optimal self-management of chronic conditions among historically marginalized communities that include people with low incomes and those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and people of color as they age. The conditions I focus on include chronic HIV, spinal cord injuries, and neurodegenerative diseases. Currently, my work involves examining health outcomes using a mixed method approach to identify how people in historically marginalized communities manage these chronic conditions while attempting to successfully age in place.
