Biography
Amy Smith DNP, APRN, AGNP-C, CNE is an instructor at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing in the Undergraduate Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. With a passion for teaching ignited during her early days as an oncology nurse, Amy brings real-world experience and boundless enthusiasm to her role. Since 2012, Amy has been shaping the future of nursing education, crafting innovative courses that empower students build clinical judgement skills and engage in interprofessional learning experiences. Recognized as a trailblazer in her field, Amy holds the prestigious certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and is actively involved in multiple professional organizations. Amy’s commitment to excellence has garnered her numerous accolades, including the Maralynne D. Mitcham IP Fellowship Award in 2020, the MUSC CON Daisy Award in 2021, the “I am an MUSC Innovator” award in 2021, the Golden Lamp Award in 2023, and the Excellence in Faculty Teaching Award in 2024, showcasing a dedication to advancing nursing education and ensuring compassionate care for generations to come.
