Biography

Dr. Taylor Berens Crouch is a licensed clinical psychologist and a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Bio-Behavioral Medicine at MUSC. Dr. Crouch obtained her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Medicine from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She completed her clinical internship at the Vanderbilt/ Veterans Affairs Consortium and a postdoctoral fellowship in Behavioral Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Dr. Crouch specializes in health psychology and is actively involved in patient care, clinical research, and training at MUSC. Her clinical specialty is providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions for patients with a wide range of chronic health conditions. She has particular expertise in treating chronic pain and serves as the Director of Outcomes and Outreach for the MUSC Pain Rehabilitation Program, where she is involved in clinical services, research, and community outreach efforts. She also treats patients individually in the Behavioral Medicine clinic in the Institute of Psychiatry. Dr. Crouch works collaboratively with her patients to help them adjust to living with chronic illness, learn strategies to manage physical and emotional difficulties, and positively improve their health behaviors, quality of life, and engagement in valued activities. In addition, she completes pre-surgical psychological evaluations and helps prepare patients for medical interventions.
