Biography

Dr. Hannah Turbeville is a clinical fellow at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is an otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeon, also known as an ear, nose, and throat doctor, that specializes in treating cancers of the head and neck. Dr. Turbeville is trained in complex excision of tumors in the head and neck, including the mouth, larynx (voice box), nose, throat, and skin, and is currently completing a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction. She is skilled in both emergent and longitudinal oncologic care and is passionate about the relationships she develops with her patients and their families. Her research interests are in predictive indicators of aggressive pathology in head and neck cancers for identification of tumors that may be more difficult to treat or prone to recurrence.

Dr. Turbeville was born and raised in south Mississippi and completed both an MD and a PhD in pharmacology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She then moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she pursued residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Michigan and served as the administrative chief resident. She plans to continue practicing at an academic medical center where she can continue pursuing her passions of leadership, education, and service.
