Biography
Dr. Frank R. Voss is an orthopaedic surgeon who subspecializes in total joint replacement. He has more than 28 years of experience doing hip replacement, knee replacement, partial knee replacement, revisions of hip and knee replacement, and osteotomies around the knee. He previously served as the lead orthopedic trauma surgeon at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia. He was the director of the total joint replacement service and an associate professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine for the last 16 years. He received his education at Brown University, majoring in Biochemistry, and playing varsity water polo. He subsequently, graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1986. He completed 2 years of training in General Surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and then 4 more years of training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Program. He spent an additional year of training in Total Joint Replacement at Rush University in Chicago. He currently serves important roles as a committee member for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Medical Association. He has done surgery as a missionary in Kenya, and twice in Haiti.
