Biography
Sharlene Wedin, PsyD, ABPP, leads efforts to support student success and well-being across MUSC. She oversees the Office of Interprofessional Initiatives, the Office of Student Engagement, the Center for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning, the Center for Academic Excellence & Writing Center, the Student Health & Well-being Care Center, and the Wellness Center to ensure students have the tools, resources, and support needed to thrive. Additionally, she serves as an associate professor in the Division of Bio-Behavioral Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences of the College of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Wedin is Board Certified in Clinical Psychology. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University and completed her predoctoral internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center with specialty training in Behavioral Medicine. She completed her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at the University of Denver and served as an officer in the U.S. Army Medical Department and faculty member at Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
