Cardiovascular Research

The Cardiovascular Surgery Research Lab uses an integrative bedside-to-bench-to-bedside approach to translational research, exploring many aspects of cardiothoracic and vascular diseases but perhaps none more so than our research in aortic aneurysm disease.

Surgical Oncology Research

The surgeon-scientists and basic researchers in the Surgical Oncology Research Laboratory, under the leadership of Nancy DeMore, M.D.  and Shikhar Mehrotra, Ph.D., are conducting research to understand T cell biology and develop enhanced T cell-based therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. 

Transplant Immunobiology Research

Organ transplantation has become an accepted modality for the treatment of end-stage organ failure, but chronic rejection remains a leading cause of graft loss. The Lee Patterson Allen Transplant Immunobiology Lab is dedicated to the study of novel investigations in transplantation tolerance. 

Regenerative Medicine Research

Research in regenerative medicine explores ways to create living, functional tissues to repair or replace tissue or organ function lost due to age, disease, damage, or congenital defects.

Transplant Surgery Research

Dave Taber, PharmD, BCPS, and John McGillicuddy, M.D. in the Divsion of Transplant Surgery collaborate on research to improve medication safety for transplant patients.
