Ed Tech Community

Empowering Education Through Ed Tech

MUSC is strongly dedicated to our education mission and considers our educational technology faculty and staff crucial as we enhance the learning experience for optimal educational value. Ed Tech faculty and staff, serving as tier 1 support for educational technologies and instructional assistance in each college, are integral to our success. In the CATL strategic priorities, we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging and connectedness within the Ed Tech community through intentional engagement and community-building activities. We acknowledge the invaluable contributions of Ed Tech to our colleges and their transformative impact on student learning experiences, making them the backbone of our support system.

Communication

The Ed Tech community, through the Ed Tech newsletter, receives all communications from the Associate Provost to teaching faculty, including newsletters and programming announcements, ensuring their awareness and participation in relevant initiatives and developments.

EdTech Committee

Ed Tech representatives from each college constitute the Ed Tech Committee, chaired by a CATL and an IS member. This committee convenes monthly to collaborate on strategic initiatives, share best practices, and address challenges in educational technology implementation.

Annual Ed Tech Luncheon

Each Fall, we organize an annual Ed Tech luncheon, offering the entire Ed Tech community a chance to unite, network, and commemorate achievements. This event serves as a platform for celebrating successes, addressing concerns, and fostering camaraderie among colleagues.

Educational Development Partnerships

We actively collaborate with Ed Tech for educational development programming, utilizing their expertise to improve teaching and learning practices at MUSC. Partnership initiatives encompass book clubs, annual conference presentations, the Scholarship for Teaching and Learning Community, Summer series presentations, and the creation of knowledge resources like podcasts and blog posts.

Through these initiatives and collaborative efforts, we aim to foster a vibrant and supportive Ed Tech community that encourages innovation and excellence in education.
