Dr. Cain Green is an interventional radiologist at MUSC. He was awarded a scholarship to attend Sewanee: The University of the South, where he double majored in Music and Chemistry. He then received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, and went on to complete a general surgery internship and diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. As a radiology resident, he was selected to be the chief resident.
Dr. Green then completed his training in interventional radiology at Yale University, where he learned from world experts in various areas of interventional radiology. After finishing training, he performed three years of diagnostic and interventional radiology in Pensacola, FL. During his time in Florida, Dr. Green performed the first thoracic duct embolization, percutaneous biliary endoscopy, percutaneous jejunostomy, and prostate artery embolization at a large referral hospital, and significantly growing the oncology practice.
Dr. Green is excited to join the incredible interventional radiology team at MUSC and feels honored to be involved in the care of cancer patients. He will offer the full spectrum of cancer care, ranging from biopsy (for diagnosis) to port or central line placement (for chemotherapy), ablation or embolization (for tumor treatment), and fracture stabilization or nerve block/ablation (for cancer-related pain relief).
Dr. Green will also be offering a variety of non-cancer procedures, including prostate artery embolization for benign prostate enlargement, dialysis access maintenance, vertebral body augmentation for spinal fractures, a variety of procedures for liver disease, and many others.
