Biography

Clint C. Blankenship, Pharm.D., PA-C, RPh, DFAAPA, is an associate professor with tenure and program director in the Division of Physician Assistant Studies in the College of Health Professions at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). His distinctive educational background combines a Doctor of Pharmacy and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, providing a unique foundation for his academic career.

 

As a dedicated educator, Dr. Blankenship demonstrates exceptional teaching expertise across multiple courses in the program's curriculum. He has taught in courses such as clinical medicine, clinical problem-solving, clinical skills, and pharmacotherapeutics. In addition to his role as program director, Dr. Blankenship has served on and chaired several committees, including the Didactic Curriculum Committee (2014-2025).

 

Dr. Blankenship has received prestigious recognition for his teaching excellence, including the 2016 MUSC Teaching Excellence Award and being named 2014 and 2024 Educator of the Year for the MUSC College of Health Professions. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates and a faculty inductee of the Pi Alpha MUSC Chapter.

 

His commitment to innovative education is evident through his involvement with the international student-run pharmacotherapy project and his participation in numerous instructional development workshops. Dr. Blankenship's comprehensive approach to PA education combines clinical expertise with a passion for curriculum development and educational leadership.
