Dr. Fleming is a tenured Professor in Academic Affairs Faculty, and the Associate Chief Officer for Training and Impact in the Enterprise Office of Training and Impact. Her major duties include but are not limited to the creation of enterprise-wide educational and leadership development opportunities, the development and implementation of a core training curriculum; and increasing the knowledge base of team members to promote retention.
She is the founder of the Inaugural Center for Transformation and Change Training and Impact Certificate Program as well as the co-founder of the inaugural David J. and Kathryn Cole BRHTE Leadership Academy.
Dr. Fleming’s doctoral work at Youngstown State University (Youngstown, Ohio) focused on students' perceptions of the impact of retention programs and services. Her training spans from historic Claflin University, The College of Charleston and South Carolina State University. She has worked extensively with recruitment and retention, community based grassroot organizational development, civility, and ethnocultural empathy. She is committed to addressing the psychosocial needs of all individuals with cultural humility and training health care professionals in providing innovative and evidence-based services. She has published and presented nationally in the areas of recruitment, retention, creating effective and efficient teams and handling difficult conversations.
Dr. Fleming began her journey at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2009 in the Office of Student Programs. She has served on numerous committees including the APT Committe, Faculty Senate, Teaching Excellence award Selection Committee and with Project Impact. She was also the recipient of the Dr. Earl B. Higgins and The Teaching Excellence Award: Educator Mentor: Clinical-Professional.
