Dr.
Goodman is an Instructor at the Medical University of South Carolina College of
Nursing, teaching in the DNP program.
Dr.
Goodman began her nursing career as a pediatric nurse at Levine Children’s
Hospital in Charlotte, NC and thereafter moved to Charleston, SC where she
continued to work in pediatric critical care at MUSC and became certified in
pediatric critical care. Dr. Goodman served as a clinical instructor for both
pediatric and medical-surgical classes for the ABSN program while she was
completing her MSN and DNP degrees at MUSC. She is an AANP certified FNP. After
becoming an FNP, she shifted her focus to lifespan endocrinology and then adult
endocrinology. She practices clinically with MUSC Endocrinology. She is also
specialized in LGBTQIA+ health needs and gender affirming care. She has spoken
locally and regionally on endocrinology and inclusion topics.
Dr.
Goodman is passionate about educating and mentoring aspiring nurse
practitioners and joined the College of Nursing as a full-time faculty member
in the DNP program in the Fall of 2023.
Dr.
Goodman completed her Diploma in Nursing from Mercy School of Nursing
(Charlotte, NC), her BSN from Appalachian State University College of Nursing
(Boone, NC), and her MSN and DNP degrees from the Medical University of South
Carolina College of Nursing.
