Biography
Identifying the canonical and non-canonical regulatory mechanisms that contribute towards centrosome structure and function, endocytic vesicular trafficking pathways and tumor suppression. Vesicular trafficking plays a critical homeostatic role in various cellular functions. Defects in this pathway can lead to malignancies and chronic inflammation. My lab studies the fundamental, cellular regulatory mechanisms of vesicular transport in the context of cell surface receptor homeostasis, inflammation, centriole duplication and tumor prevention. We are also interested in developing novel therapeutic approaches that can target the vesicular transport pathway and prevent onset of cancer.
