Biography
Dr. Tracy Smith earned her PhD in Biological and Health Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Her research focuses on understanding the contextual, individual, and product-level causes for nicotine and tobacco use, and leveraging that information to design and understand policies, interventions, and regulations that can improve public health. One line of Dr. Smith’s current research focuses on the impact of a potential regulatory policy which would reduce the nicotine level of combustible cigarettes. Another line of her research investigates the impact of non-cigarette tobacco product characteristics on reinforcement and use. Dr. Smith also earned her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and is originally from South Carolina.
